Automotive Excellence is owned and operated by Dave and Terri Erickson, a local Rohnert Park family, who bought the shop so they could meaningfully help people with their cars. Our auto repair shop is different from many others in that we care and focus on the customer and their needs. We don’t “fix” what isn’t broken, and we prioritize auto repairs to make car care a little bit easier on the wallet. At our shop, you’ll never feel taken advantage of, we promise.

Dave & Terri’s Automotive Journey
Husband and wife duo Terri Erickson and Dave Erickson are the current owners of Automotive Excellence and have been running the business since they took ownership in June of 2019. However, Automotive Excellence has been a trusted name in auto repair industry since 1988.
Dave Erickson has been in the automotive repair industry since 1980 and has a natural talent for fixing cars, even down to the most difficult repairs. He took his first motor apart when he was only seven years old - which didn’t go over too well, considering it was the motor of his Dad’s mower. Nonetheless, Dave has been tinkering with all things automotive and electrical ever since. He worked for a number of dealerships and independent repair shops during his vast professional career. Now, as a co-owner of Automotive Excellence, his customers absolutely adore him - most likely due to his unrelenting drive to make people happy.
Terri Erickson ran her own landscaping business while attending college, studying horticulture before getting involved in the automotive industry. When the owner of the machine shop Dave was working for wanted to start an auto repair shop, Terri took a job working with Dave at the shop and assisted in the creation of the new service department. She headed this department for the next 12 years.
In late 2010, Dave started to work for Automotive Excellence and Terri went back to school to study graphic art and web design while taking care of their grandsons. Terri and Dave decided to purchase the business in 2019 simply because they love to help people - it’s just who they are.
Today, Automotive Excellence services and repairs all types of vehicles, specializing in Japanese models, at its Rohnert Park facility. Our family-owned and operated repair facility handles everything from oil changes and preventative maintenance to major engine and transmission repairs. Each car is serviced by a professional who has specific knowledge of that particular make and model.

Kevin is an ASE Master Technician who has been with Automotive Excellence for nearly 15 years. His automotive knowledge and experience are impressive, as is his dedication to serving our customers well.
David Jr. (DJ)
Auto Repair Technician
DJ is the son of owners, Dave and Terri, as well as an auto repair technician with over 10 years of experience working in the automotive industry. He has been around vehicles, however, his entire life.
Samantha
Owner
Samantha is the daughter of the owner David Sr and came to us with a banking background. She has been around vehicles her entire life and is knowledgeable about cars too. Since coming on with us she has moved from part-time marketing to full business management. She is responsible for maintaining the day-to-day operations and has been a valuable asset to the team.
Darlene
Service Writer
Darlene is a familiar face to long time and new customers. When her husband owned the shop she was handling the bookkeeping for the business and on occasion filling in for service writers. Darlene decided to stay on with the business she loved so much and became our full time service writer.
Silas
Auto Repair Technician
Silas came to us in 2023. He started as our porter and has since taken on a new role in the company as a technician. He is a young adult who has always had a desire to learn about vehicles and repairs. He has been a wonderful addition to our team, and we look forward to seeing where he goes in life and this industry.
Chris
Chris is the son-in-law of David Sr, husband to Samantha, and brother-in-law of David Jr. He has a background in cabinet installation and parts delivery. He has since started to work for the family business in the porter position. He has been a great addition to the shop making this truly a family-owned business.
